Sydney Quiseng Releases New Song “Guilty”
American indie pop band Echosmith lead singer Sydney Quiseng started her solo career and released her debut solo single “Wonder” last month.
Following the song, she unveiled the second single called “Guilty” on October 25, 2024.
Both songs will appear on her upcoming debut solo album.
The track was written by Jamie Sierota, and Sydney Quiseng. Produced by Sydney Quiseng and Oscar Charles.
The accompanying music video was directed by Matt Robertson, who also created the video for her debut song.
Sydney Quiseng said of the song, “'Guilty' was one of the first songs we wrote for this project. And it's kind of self explanatory, but it definitely was how I was feeling about making any music outside of my comfort zone, outside of my family unit. And I don't know I just felt really guilty about it, but I was also having this like, inner dialog of like, there's nothing wrong with writing songs, and just seeing what happens, but it's very much a peek into what my mind does when I'm taking a step forward to do something that is just for me. Or something that is making me excited, but then there's this little voice that's like, 'what about everybody else?' And it's hard not to feel guilty just doing something for you. So this is kind of like my first time doing that which is really cool.”- She shared on social media, “Putting this song out feels completely surreal - I wrote it June 7th, 2021 with my bro Jamie Sierota and I was figuring out in real time what it felt like to make music as a solo artist. Songwriting is so cool because it's kind of like putting a timestamp on a moment in your life... and this song feels like a reminder of how far I've come since then (even if I am still working on not feeling guilty lol). I hope you guys love this song as much as I do and if you can relate to it, I hope that hearing someone else put words to that feeling makes you feel less alone.”

The debut solo album is expected to be released in 2025.
Sydney Quiseng told Atwood Magazine about the album, “I'm working towards something that is more of a full project because I think that this solo project is more of an album project than a single based thing is what I will say. There is a lot more coming, and I've written a bunch of songs so when you've got 65 songs to choose from or something, I mean probably more now, you have a lot to say apparently.” - source : Apple Music
