  • Coldplay Releases New Album “Moon Music”

  • British rock band Coldplay, consisting of Chris Martin (vocals/keyboards/rhythm guitar), Jonny Buckland (guitar), Guy Berryman (bass) and Will Champion (drums), released their tenth studio album “Moon Music” on October 4, 2024 via Parlophone and Atlantic Records.
It is their first album in three years since the 2021 album “Music of the Spheres”.
The album comprises 10 songs, featuring guest appearances from Jon Hopkins, Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna, Tini and Ayra Starr, produced by Bill Rahko, Dan Green, Max Martin, Michael Ilbert, Jon Hopkins, Oscar Holter, Ilya, and American DJ duo The Chainsmokers.
Also, many artists performed on the album, the likes of H.E.R., Nile Rodgers, Jacob Collier, Brian Eno, Little Simz, Elyanna, Tini, Victoria Canal, Livvi Franc, and more.

Before the release of the album, the band frontman Chris Martin said on BBC Radio 2 that it will be their last album.
Chris Martin said, “Our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour. Maybe we'll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.”
However, he subsequently backtracked those comments, saying the band would finish after 12 albums instead.
  • Chris Martin told Zane Lowe of Apple Music, “It's really important that we have that limit. There's only 12 and a half Beatles albums. There's about the same Bob Marley, so all of our heroes. And also having that limit means that the quality control is so high right now, and for a song to make it, it's almost impossible, which is great. And so where we could be kind of coasting, we're trying to improve.”

He continued, “It's our manifesto, or my way of looking at things right now. In terms of how to continue, how to not give up, how to accept reality, not run away from it, not hate anybody-even in the midst of always being filled with so many difficult emotions. And it's with Max Martin: He made sure that it's really good.”
  • Chris Martin told NME about the album, “Moon Music is kind of the story of waking up in the morning and feeling terrible about yourself, terrible about the world - depressed, isolated, separate, alone, and not able to be yourself. Through the album, it's a journey to feeling the complete opposite at the end of the day.”

He added, “Finishing on 'Moon Music', I'm so grateful for the people around this album and the songs that have arrived. I don't know where they come from, I never know where they come from, but I'm like, Wow, we've finally got an album that I wouldn't be embarrassed to put in the same room as my favourite albums.”

After the released of the album, the band appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform “All My Love” and “WE PRAY”.
