Split & Splat was one of four songs added in the August Update. Like all battle songs, it has a random chance of being played during online matches. It can also be heard in Squid Beatz, and is included in Splatune.
The song has a rather upbeat and joyous tempo and feeling. The track starts with a repeating chip-tune rhythm accompanied with some chip-tune chord. After this, there is some singing, followed by a short instrumental break, and quickly returns back to some more singing.
In Splatoon 2, Split & Splat can be unlocked to listen in Squid Beatz 2 as a final reward from the Inkling Girl 2 amiibo with a maximum score of 147 and 226 in Normal and Hard modes, respectively. It cannot, however, be heard anywhere else in the base game.
In Splatoon 3, Split & Splat can sometimes play in the lobby.
The song is also featured in the soundtrack for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and by default, it has a chance of playing on Moray Towers. It can also be heard in the Sounds section in the Vault menu.

Trivia
A behind the scenes video was released showing the recording of Split & Splat. However, the video itself uses the final recording instead of the raw performance. In the video, the track was called Split and Splat, possibly a beta name.
