“Some know me as an architect and some know me as an intellectual's older brother... But in reality... I'm just an old man who loves Neon Eggs!”
Fava, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Fava, also referred to as Old Bean,[1] is a Beanish architect in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake. He designed the Yoshi Theater out of love for the Yoshis, and is seen sitting against the projection screen inside the building. Fava explains to the Mario Bros. the method for obtaining Neon Eggs, which requires feeding Bean Fruits to Yoshis. Although he describes himself as a "Neon Egg fiend", he has never found a single one. Despite this, he marks on the brothers' map the approximate locations of seven Bean Fruits.

Fava is the older brother of Beanbean Castle Town's greatest intellectual, and has a tendency to say "perhaps" at the end of sentences. His name comes from the fava bean.
