John Benn Walsh, 1st Baron Ormathwaite was born on 9 December 1798.1 He was the son of Sir John Benn Walsh, 1st Bt. and Margaret Fowke.2 He married Lady Jane Grey, daughter of George Harry Grey, 6th Earl of Stamford and Lady Henrietta Charlotte Elizabeth Charteris, on 8 November 1825.2 He died on 3 February 1881 at age 82.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Berkshire in 1823.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Radnorshire in 1825.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Walsh, of Ormathwaite, co.
