Fancy Party vs. Costume Party (North America and Japan) or Black Tie Event vs. Fancy Dress Party (Europe and Oceania) was a collaboration Splatfest event in Splatoon. It was held for all regions. It was announced on 6 May 2016. The event lasted 30 hours. The results were given on 15 May 2016.

Details

The Splatfest was based on Miitomo. This was the first global Splatfest, with players being matched against players from all regions.

For North America, the full names of each choice were "I'd rather go to a FANCY PARTY" and "I'd rather go to a COSTUME PARTY". The team name portions of Splatfest titles were "Fancy" and "Costume". For Europe and Oceania, the full names of each choice were "I'd rather go to a BLACK TIE EVENT" and "I'd rather go to a FANCY DRESS PARTY". The team name portions of Splatfest titles were "Black Tie" and "Fancy Dress".

The three stages selected for this Splatfest were Walleye Warehouse, Flounder Heights, and Ancho-V Games.
