- "Killerwatt" is a Class 7 Elemental/Electroplasmic Entity from Ghostbusters.
Ravenous, powerful, and difficult to contain, "Killerwatt" is a monstrous electroplasmic entity; unlike most of the other spooks and phantasms faced by the Ghostbusters, this particular ghost consumes electricity to fuel its rampages—a unique mutation that allows it to rapidly increase its strength in urbanized areas such as New York City.

The electricity-eating ghost was haunting an abandoned power plant in Brooklyn, and its presence eventually prompted someone to call in the Ghostbusters to deal with the problem. That night, the group arrived at the plant along with the visiting Autobot Ectotron; though the ghost initially failed to manifest, Peter Venkman and Winston Zeddemore were finally able to goad their target into appearing after he cut the power to the abandoned facility. Enraged, the phantom immediately materialized and burst through the plant roof, shrugging off the Ghostbusters' proton packs as it began to leech power directly off New York City's electrical grid. Thinking quickly, Ectotron tackled the nearest power line, momentarily cutting the ghost from its food source, while Ray Stantz caught it in a specially-modified ghost trap. Only a day later, however, Ray hit upon the idea of releasing the ghost during a pitched battle against the supernatural electrical being "Kremzeek." The plan worked: attracted by its otherworldly power, the ghost immediately charged Kremzeek and tried to eat him. The resulting feedback blew both entities to nothing, though Ray noted that they would eventually reconstitute in a few months. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 4
Notes
- This ghost is based on the Real Ghostbusters one-off villain Killerwatt, who appeared in the episode of the same name. Much like IDW's take on Slimer, however, this version of the character—like many other Real Ghostbusters antagonists—has been reimagined as a mindless, seemingly-feral creature, rather than the intelligent and articulate "master of electricity" he proclaimed himself to be in the animated series. It's unlikely that this version of the character has a name, but we've sorted him under the name of his animated alter-ego for convenience's sake.
- A piece of abandoned machinery in the haunt of "Killerwatt" is based off the monstrous "final form" he assumed in his spotlight episode, a possessed mass of technology.
