Apparently, the Rescue Bots don't need a bigger boat.

The Darby Ava is a small fishing boat owned by Chief Charlie Burns. It is remarkably buoyant and can easily support the weight of four giant robots.

Fiction

Rescue Bots cartoon

Charlie Burns, his son Cody Burns and their Rescue Bots set out on the annual Burns family fishing trip. They hadn't been out for long when they were attacked by a giant robot shark, which struck the boat, causing Heatwave to fall overboard. After consulting with Doc Greene, Burns took the boat out again with the Rescue Bots, planning to use an electro-magnetic lure to trap the shark in a cove. The shark took the bait and started following the Darby Ava, but veered off to investigate the Griffin Rock ferry. After Burns and Blades went to help the people on the ferry, the other Rescue Bots abandoned ship to attack the shark. Deep Trouble

After Cody and the four Rescue Bots were swept out to sea, the rest of the Burns family pressed the Darby Ava into service as a search-and-rescue vessel, along with many of Griffin Rock's other boats. The Lost Bell

They used the boat to reach Wayward Island after a meteor crashed there. During a second visit to the island to destroy the meteorite, the Darby Ava was swept into rocks, damaging the ending and triggering the countdown on the bomb they'd brought. Graham was able to fix the engine, and the bomb was used to destroy the meteorite. Bumblebee to the Rescue

The ship was taken on the mission to destroy the S.S. Isolde, which contained a dangerous invention. The Darby Ava was damaged by falling ice and began to sink, but was saved when Doctor Morocco lifted it up on his shark submarine and carried it to shore. Tip of the Iceberg Following an earthquake, Graham, Cody and the Bots used the boat to get to Wayward Island to check out a missing quake sensor. A super-magnet pulled the boat right out of the water and wedged it between two trees, ripping its engine clean out. It was later towed back to Griffin Rock using Doc Greene's floating lab. In Search of the Griffin's Nest

While the team paint the Darby Ava, Kade suggested they could speed up the process by loading paint into Heatwave's tanks. Heatwave wasn't keen. Rescue Dog The team attempted to use the Darby Ava to reach the weather machine which Doctor Morocco had set up on a buoy offshore, but didn't get to even launch the boat as the weather machine produced columns of fire. Changes

The Darby Ava was used to reach Wayward Island so the team could look for dinosaurs Land Before Prime and Quint Quarry's safari island after the hunter kidnapped Optimus Prime. Big Game It was also used to find the S.S. Phantom Voyager. Phantom of the Sea The Burns family used it to go after Quint Quarry again, when he kidnapped Professor Baranova and demanded Doc Greene build him five dinobots. Quarry's Quarry

During a voyage back from the mainland, the boat's propeller was snared by kelp. Kade inadvertently drawing jellyfish to the area by throwing shrimp overboard delayed them clearing it until they could lure the shrimp away. All Bots Great and Small

Graham used the boat to reach Drilling Platform number 6, Turning the Tide and to reach Wayward Island so he could check the sensors after an earthquake. The New Recruits

Notes

  • As the Darby family over in Transformers: Prime are named for Jeff Kline's daughter Darby, presumably that's where this boat's name comes from too.
