This is as good as a view as you're going to get, sorry!

Captained by Zachary Burns, the S.S. Isolde was once used to carry experimental technology to the island of Griffin Rock. In hindsight, something was bound to go wrong.

Fiction

Rescue Bots cartoon

On a voyage in 1966, a piece of the ship's cargo, the Sub-Zero Expander, was accidentally activated. The ice it began covering the ship with forced the crew to abandon her, and the S.S. Isolde was eventually encased in an iceberg. Almost fifty years later, the ship was discovered by Doctor Morocco, who claimed it as salvage. Unaware of the claim, Chief Burns also stumbled on the iceberg when the Griffin Rock ferry ran into it, and further investigation by Cody, Dani and Blades resulted in the discovery of the ship within the iceberg. The rescue team determined that the Sub-Zero Expander was still dangerous, and set about blowing up the ship, only to run into Doctor Morocco. Having seen them off, Morocco began unloading the Isolde's cargo, but accidentally sent the Expander into overload, resulting in a five-mile circle around the ship being frozen. The ice immediately began to melt, resulting in chunks breaking free from the iceberg and damaging the Burns's ship, the Darby Ava. Tip of the Iceberg

Also on board had been an early version of the weather machine. Changes

Notes

  • The ship is named after the daughter of the show's original composers Starr Parodi and Jeff Eden Fair.
  • "Isolde" is a variation on the Germanic Isolda and the Celtic/Welsh "Yseult"; the Germanic name holds the meanings of "ice" and "rule" — rather appropriate for a ship trapped by ice for nearly 50 years.[1] The Celtic (and original) variation for "Isolde the Fair" means "Beautiful" and "Fair".[2]
