Sir James Douglas Wishart Thomson of Glendarroch, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir James Douglas Wishart Thomson of Glendarroch, 2nd Bt. was born on 30 October 1905.1 He was the son of Sir Frederick Charles Thomson of Glendarroch, 1st Bt. and Constance Margaret Hotson.2 He married Evelyn Margaret Isabel Douglas, daughter of Lt.-Cdr. David William Sholto Douglas and Frances M. Stevenson, on 25 September 1935.1 He died on 3 January 1972 at age 66.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1928 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Aberdeen between 1935 and 1946.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Thomson, of Glendarroch, Midlothian [U.K., 1929] on 21 April 1935.1 He was chairman of the Ben Line Steamers between 1964 and 1970.1

Lt.-Cdr. David William Sholto Douglas1

     Lt.-Cdr. David William Sholto Douglas was born on 1 July 1883.2 He was the son of Admiral Sir Archibald Lucius Douglas and Constance Ellen Hawks.3 He married Frances M. Stevenson, daughter of Charles A. Stevenson.2 He died on 31 May 1916 at age 32, killed in action on board H.M.S. Black Prince.2
     He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1

     Evelyn Margaret Isabel Douglas was born in 1915.2 She was the daughter of Lt.-Cdr. David William Sholto Douglas and Frances M. Stevenson.3,4 She married Sir James Douglas Wishart Thomson of Glendarroch, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Frederick Charles Thomson of Glendarroch, 1st Bt. and Constance Margaret Hotson, on 25 September 1935.1 She died on 26 May 2017 at Yorkshire, England.2
     Evelyn Margaret Isabel Douglas also went by the nick-name of Bettina.1 From 25 September 1935, her married name became Thomson. She lived in 2003 at Old Caberston, Walkerburn, Peebles-shire, Scotland.1

     Eliza Caroline Tod was the daughter of Thomas Tod.1 She married Sir George Hector Leith-Buchanan, 4th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Wellesley William Leith, 3rd Bt. and Jemima Macdonald Buchanan, on 24 April 1861.1 She died on 1 May 1899.1
     From 24 April 1861, her married name became Leith-Buchanan.1
