     Sir Frederick Charles Thomson of Glendarroch, 1st Bt. was born on 27 May 1875.1 He was the son of James Wishart Thomson and Barbara Gray Cunningham.2 He married Constance Margaret Hotson, daughter of Hamilton Andrew Hotson and Margaret Elliot Richie, on 7 April 1904.1 He died on 21 April 1935 at age 59.1
     He was a practising Advocate in 1901.1 He was a practising barrister in 1904.1 He fought in the First World War, in Egypt and Salonika.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Lovat Scouts and Scottish Horse.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Aberdeen.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)1 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) (Scotland) in 1923.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General [Scotland] between 1923 and 1924.1 He was a Lord Commissioner of the Treasury between 1923 and 1928.1 He was Vice-Chamberlain of the Household between 1928 and 1929.1 He was created 1st Baronet Thomson, of Glendarroch, Midlothian [U.K.] on 28 March 1929.1
