     George Tyssen Butler was born on 12 October 1943.1 He is the son of Major Tyssen Desmond Butler and Dorothy West.2 He married Mary Victoria Leiter, daughter of Thomas Leiter and Marion Saffold Oates, in May 1970.1
     He was educated at Groton School, Groton, Massachusetts, U.S.A.G.1 He graduated from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, U.S.A.G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was a writer for Newsweek.1 He wrote the book Pumping Iron.1 He wrote the book The New Soldier, with Senator John F. Kerry.1 A producer and director of movies, inclduing Pumping Iron (1977), Pumping Iron II (1985), In the Blood, The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition (2001), Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure (IMAX 2001.)1 He was awarded the BAFTA Award in 2001 for a TV version of Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure.1 He lived in 2003 at True Farm, Holderness, New Hampshire, U.S.A.G.1

     Georgina Rose Mary Walker was the daughter of Captain Charles Walker.1 She married, firstly, Sir George Beresford Butler, son of Antoine Sloet Butler and Mary Matilda Beresford, on 9 July 1896.2 She married, secondly, Thomas Percy Butler, son of Henry William Paget Butler and Geraldine Sydney FitzGerald, on 22 April 1932.2 She died in 1954.2
     From 9 July 1896, her married name became Butler.

     Sir George Beresford Butler was born on 31 January 1857.1 He was the son of Antoine Sloet Butler and Mary Matilda Beresford.2 He married Georgina Rose Mary Walker, daughter of Captain Charles Walker, on 9 July 1896.1 He died on 1 September 1924 at age 67.1
     He held the office of Resident Magistrate (R.M.) for Queen's County between 1889 and 1921.1 He was appointed Knight in 1922.1 He lived at Island View, Clifden, County Galway, IrelandG.1

     Thomas Butler was born on 23 May 1814.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Butler, 8th Bt. and Frances Graham-Clarke.1 He married, firstly, Mary Tulip, daughter of Henry Tulip, on 5 May 1840.1 He married, secondly, Emma Elizabeth Bertie Cator, daughter of Vice-Admiral Bertie Cornelius Cator and Sophia Atkinson, on 15 January 1861.1 He died on 9 October 1893 at age 79.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the 7th Fusiliers.1

     Antoine Sloet Butler was born on 11 October 1823.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Butler, 8th Bt. and Frances Graham-Clarke.1 He married, firstly, Mary Matilda Beresford, daughter of Reverend George Hamilton de la Poer Beresford and Elizabeth Nisbet, in September 1854.1 He married, secondly, Eliza Stevenson, daughter of Reverend Joseph Stevenson, on 29 April 1875.1 He died on 25 December 1901 at age 78.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 7th Dragoon Guards.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He held the office of Divisional Magistrate [Ireland] between 1883 and 1888.1
