Hugh Rowley was born on 18 June 1833.1 He was the son of Hercules Langford Rowley, 2nd Baron Langford of Summerhill and Louisa Augusta Rhodes.2 He married, firstly, Theresa Caroline Bishop, daughter of John Bishop and Caroline Gordon, on 10 January 1852.1 He and Theresa Caroline Bishop were divorced in 1859.1 He married, secondly, Caroline Frances Green, daughter of John Green, on 17 January 1874.1 He died on 12 May 1908 at age 74, without issue.1
