     Captain Lord Edward O'Brien was the son of Edward O'Brien and Mary Carrick.² He married, firstly, Diana Hotham, daughter of General George Hotham and Diana Pennyman, in 1805.¹ He married, secondly, Gertrude Grace Methuen, daughter of Paul Cobb Methuen and Matilda Gooch, on 11 April 1815.¹ He married, thirdly, Lady Elizabeth Susan Somerset, daughter of Henry Charles Somerset, 6th Duke of Beaufort and Lady Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower, on 16 April 1822.² He died on 9 March 1824.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Diana Hotham was the daughter of General George Hotham and Diana Pennyman.² She married Captain Lord Edward O'Brien, son of Edward O'Brien and Mary Carrick, in 1805.¹ She died on 26 November 1810, without issue.¹
     Her married name became O'Brien.

     Gertrude Grace Methuen was the daughter of Paul Cobb Methuen and Matilda Gooch.² She married Captain Lord Edward O'Brien, son of Edward O'Brien and Mary Carrick, on 11 April 1815.¹ She died on 1 May 1817.²
     From 11 April 1815, her married name became O'Brien.

     Paul Cobb Methuen was born on 15 June 1752.¹ He was the son of Paul Methuen and Catharine Cobb.¹ He married Matilda Gooch, daughter of Sir Thomas Gooch, 3rd Bt. and Anne Atwood, on 20 April 1776.¹ He died on 14 September 1816 at age 64.¹
     He lived at Corsham, Wiltshire, England^G. He held the office of High Sheriff of Wiltshire in 1780.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Great Bedwin in 1781.¹

     Matilda Gooch was born on 28 April 1754.² She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Gooch, 3rd Bt. and Anne Atwood.² She married Paul Cobb Methuen, son of Paul Methuen and Catharine Cobb, on 20 April 1776.² She died on 6 December 1826 at age 72.¹
     Her married name became Methuen.

     Sir Thomas Gooch, 3rd Bt. was born on 23 July 1720.¹ He was the son of Rt. Rev. Sir Thomas Gooch, 2nd Bt. and Mary Sherlock.¹ He married, firstly, Anne Atwood, daughter of John Atwood, in 1743.¹ He married, secondly, Phoebe Norton, daughter of Isaac Norton, in November 1772.¹ He died on 10 September 1781 at age 61.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Gooch, of Benacre Hall, Suffolk [G.B., 1746] on 14 February 1754.¹

     Gertrude Matilda O'Brien was born in 1817.² She was the daughter of Captain Lord Edward O'Brien and Gertrude Grace Methuen.^1,3 She married Reverend Thomas Plumptre Methuen, son of Reverend Thomas Anthony Methuen and Eliza Maria Plumptre, on 17 June 1840.¹ She died on 17 December 1869.¹
     From 17 June 1840, her married name became Methuen.

     Mary Catherine O'Brien was the daughter of Captain Lord Edward O'Brien and Gertrude Grace Methuen.^1,2 She married Reverend John Hamilton Forsyth on 20 January 1842.¹ She died on 10 May 1885.¹
     Her married name became Forsyth.

     Reverend John Hamilton Forsyth married Mary Catherine O'Brien, daughter of Captain Lord Edward O'Brien and Gertrude Grace Methuen, on 20 January 1842.¹

     Lady Elizabeth Susan Somerset was born on 23 June 1798.² She was the daughter of Henry Charles Somerset, 6th Duke of Beaufort and Lady Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower.¹ She married, firstly, Captain Lord Edward O'Brien, son of Edward O'Brien and Mary Carrick, on 16 April 1822.¹ She married, secondly, General James Orde on 11 November 1829.³ She died on 16 April 1876 at age 77.¹
     Her married name became O'Brien. From 11 November 1829, her married name became Orde.¹
