     Sir John Grant, 6th of Freuchie was born on 17 August 1596.2 He was the son of John Grant, 5th of Freuchie and Lady Lilias Murray.1 He married Mary Ogilvy, daughter of Walter Ogilvy, 1st Lord Ogilvy of Deskford and Lady Mary Douglas, on 11 December 1613.2 He died on 1 April 1637 at age 40.2
     He lived at Multen, ScotlandG.1 He lived at Freuchie, ScotlandG.3

     Walter Ogilvy, 1st Lord Ogilvy of Deskford was the son of Alexander Ogilvy of Collard and Barbara Ogilvy.2 He married, firstly, Agnes Elphinstone, daughter of Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone and Margaret Drummond.3 He married, secondly, Lady Mary Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 6th Earl of Morton and Lady Agnes Leslie, in 1582.4 He died between 6 July 1625 and 14 February 1627.4
     He was created 1st Lord Ogilvy of Deskford [Scotland] on 4 October 1615.5

     Lewis Gordon, 3rd Marquess of Huntly was the son of George Gordon, 2nd Marquess of Huntly and Lady Anne Campbell.2 He married Mary Grant, daughter of Sir John Grant, 6th of Freuchie and Mary Ogilvy, in October 1644.1 He died in December 1653.3,4
     He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Huntly [S., 1445] on 25 March 1651.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Gordon of Badenoch [S., 1599] on 25 March 1651.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Marquess of Huntly [S., 1599] on 25 March 1651, after being restored to his titles.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Enzie [S., 1599] on 25 March 1651.2
