The Winter's Tale est comoedia a Gulielmo Shakesperio anno incerto composita, die 11 Maii 1611 docta, primum in editione in folio (titulo Mr. William Shakespeares Comedies, Histories & Tragedies) anno 1623 impressa. Fons principalis e quo Shakesperius fabulam derivavit fuit mythistoria a Roberto Greene anno 1588 edita, anno 1607 reimpressa, cuius titulus est Pandosto.
Crisis fabulae est dies festus tonsurae ovium (act. 4 sc. 3-4); ibi enim de amoribus Perditae et Florizel pater huius certus fit.
