Systema nervose

Le rhopalio de Tripedalia cystophora

Le systema nervose del cubomedusa es le plus disveloppate del medusas. Un nervo annular al base del campana coordina lor movimentos de pulsation (characteristica alsi trovate in Coronatae medusas). In vice de simple ocellos con pigmentari cupula, cubomedusas possede ver oculos, con retina, cornea e cristallino.[2] Lor oculos son arrangiate in gruppos al extremitates de sensorial structuras appellate rhopalios, locate a cata latere del cubo e connectite al nervo annulari.

Cata rhopalio contine duo oculos con lente formante un imagine: le oculo superior vide extra aqua (con un campo de vision adaptate al fenestra de Snell (fr)) e permitte de navigar per examplo in mangrove;[3] le oculo inferior permitte de evitar objectos.[4] Cata rhopalio a alsi duo oculos cave detectante le lumine e duo oculos findite detectante le movimentos vertical.[5]

Cubomedusas ha 6 oculos per rhopalio e dunque 24 oculos in total. Rhopalios remane vertical quando le medusa se displacia.[3]
