Please be more careful

[edit]

Please refrain from adding the word "vandalism" to level one warnings as you did here. Users can be offended when accused of vandalism when they may have just made a mistake. When the see "welcome" and "vandalism" in the same message they could easily be confused. Tiderolls 14:11, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

[edit]

I have granted rollback rights to your account. After a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know and I will remove it. Good luck and thanks. —Tom Morris (talk) 16:09, 13 May 2012 (UTC) —Tom Morris (talk) 16:09, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking

[edit]

Hi, re this edit, you can't block editors on Wikipedia, that is a job for an administrator. If you wish to report a vandalising IP or user please do so at WP:AIV. Any questions, please feel free to ask on my talk page. Regards,--Chip123456 (talk) 19:24, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Grizzly, reverting vandalism is a serious issue, and should be reverted on first site if the situation requires that. Thus, joking about asking someone to save you some vandalism to revert is fine but asking a user to not revert vandalism so you can get the edits is not acceptable and is frowned upon. Please do not do it in the feature. Cheers,

I see that you've reverted an edit to List of Cars characters#Sally Carrera in such a way as to duplicate (in its entirety) a little over seven kilobytes of info which is currently in the individual page on Sally Carrera. As the list article is getting rather lengthy (about 105000 bytes after your changes), I presume this was done in error? 66.102.83.61 (talk) 16:18, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your explanation of what happened has some holes in it. I strongly recommend that you review the comments made after your last post to the SPI. It is my opinion that clarifying your comments or coming clean on exactly what happened will factor heavily on the decision of the patrolling admin in the case. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:41, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On a different note, I removed your use of {{WikiProject Apple Inc.|mac=yes}} as its inclusion on your talk page is inappropriate. That template is for the talk pages of articles, not user talk pages. If you join the WikiProject, you can use user box {{User WikiProject Apple Inc.}} as that would be the correct tag to show your membership in the WikiProject. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:48, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Antivandalism operation

[edit]

Hi, As you are a new user. I thought of informing you about certain things that I think will surely get you in trouble in the near future. It does not matter if the page Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:FishingKing/OpVantage 2012 gets deleted or not. The Idea to start such a think is in itself flawed. The reason is clearly explained in WP:NOTVANDAL and all the links on that page. If you start reverting like this is some kind of a race or competition , that you are planning to do, then you will almost certainly indulge in speedy and reckless reverts of good faith edits by other users and will wrongly template them for vandalism. Sometimes you need to check a few things (pagehistory, google search, user contributions) to decide if its clearly vandalism or not. And you will certainly not be doing this as this will be seen as a waste of time in your competition to speedily revert. "Haste makes Waste" the incorrect reverts that you make will be seen as WP:Disruptive editing and this is enough reason for blocking. I have seen several users getting blocked for Disruptive editing and I would not like to see you ending up in the same fate. Please spend some time in understanding WP:Vandalism and WP:Tutorial and contribute positively to the community. regards --DBigXray 08:47, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Juwel aquarium. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Juwel aquarium requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. DBigXray 14:50, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I'm going to address the reason of my block now. I was silly and dishonest and as I have said before I really regret making that other account, if I were to be unblocked I would read the 'manual' of wikipedia thoroughly so I know what to do and what not to do, so that I don't make silly mistakes. Why I made the sockpuppet? I didn't know it was Wikipedia policy to not have 2 accounts and I got too annoyed with people rightly telling me that I shouldn't add block templates. Take my words I am not like any other sockpuppet case as I didn't know the extent and consequences of my actions and also I am very deeply sorry and would never want to do anything like that again. I have learned FishingKiing - Waging War On Wiki Vandals (talk) 09:35, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You created an account solely for the purpose of vandalism and personal attacks, and persisted with those attacks after warnings. To describe what you did as "silly mistakes" is absurd, and to say "I didn't know it was Wikipedia policy to not have 2 accounts" suggests that you think it is all right to be dishonest as long as it is not against any "rule". Nothing in your unblock request addresses the completely unacceptable nature of the editing you did with your sockpuppet account. In addition, there is the persistent vandalism from this account which you were repeatedly warned about. Then there's the fact that you lied about your sockpuppet, which must give us doubts about how far we can trust anything else you say. All in all, your editing has been disruptive in many ways, dealing with it is a waste of time for numerous editors who could have spent the same time more constructively, and you show no indication of accepting the nature of the problems. I see no reason whatsoever to think that unblocking you would benefit Wikipedia. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:28, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
