Two different sources for year of birth

[edit]

Even in Premiere and Gala (the 2nd one is a people newspaper, is that a good source???) show 1985 as birth date, in FR-WIKI and DE-WIKI sources in 20minutes.fr and liberation.fr can make calculate that the year of birth is 1984. And authorities like https://viaf.org/viaf/5192569/ and http://catalogue.bnf.fr/servlet/RechercheEquation;jsessionid=DB85C974F7B1705C23152C4CF3FFC0B5?TexteCollection=HGARSTUVWXYZ1DIECBMJNQLOKP&TexteTypeDoc=DESNFPIBTMCJOV&Equation=IDP%3Dcb146732563&host=catalogue suggest 1984. So if someone has other sources it would be nice. Thanks. Jeriby (talk) 13:43, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:CIRCULAR, VIAF and BNF are not reliable sources in the English Wikipedia. Additionally, Jeriby's edits like this contravene the WP:SYNTHESIS policy. 153.228.133.106 (talk) 08:37, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that BNF use Wikipedia data, so WP:CIRCULAR is not relevant here. BNF is a reliable source I think. The fact is that here we put a year of birth that we are not sure! I doubt it's better to state just one birth year and consider it as sure, whereas other sources state another birth year. Either we put the 2 possible years, or we don't put any year at all, until we have a really sure date with day, month and year. Jeriby (talk) 09:16, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
