Meredith Grey and Grey's Anatomy

− − Hi, TBrandley. I've addressed all issues given at Talk:Meredith Grey/GA1, so if you could pass the article, that'd be great. Also, I reverted your changes to Grey's Anatomy about ABC, because even though 'ABC' is the colloquial term, Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Abbreviations#Acronyms and initialisms says: "Unless specified in one of the two tables below, an acronym or initialism should be written out in full the first time it is used on a page, followed by the abbreviation in brackets (e.g. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs))." Thanks, TRLIJC19 (talk) 19:56, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Missing Logo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Missing Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

− − If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:45, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

X-Files GAC

− − A week has passed since I put Talk:The X-Files/GA1 on hold and as of today, no major corrections have been made since Wednesday. Do you require more time or do you want to withdraw the article? – Lemonade51 (talk) 16:13, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Considering you failed to make changes to another article you nominated, which was much shorter, I suggest you concentrate on fixing The X-Files as it some areas I pointed out badly need expansion and citations. I'm putting it on hold for a further two days – if nothing is done, I will fail. – Lemonade51 (talk) 17:02, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

Hi TBrandley. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Calmer Waters 20:40, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi TBrandley. Just letting you know that red links for potentially notable topics are good to have in an article. They encourage people to create the articles and when they are created the links will already be present. It is not a requirement of GA to remove redlinks. BTW some of your reviews have been mentioned at WT:GAN in case you hadn't noticed. AIRcorn (talk) 00:28, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Bernard Mackenzie Awake TV.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Bernard Mackenzie Awake TV.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 21:58, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

The Little Guy

Hey! Though I think I'm not the right person to make reviews, I still found something on your article. There's a word missing in this sentence of the lead: "It was series creator and executive producer Kyle Killen, and was directed by executive producer Jeffrey Reiner." => It was written by series creator... OR It was series creator and executive producer Kyle Killen who wrote the episode (but then you have to change the rest of your sentence ^^) --Sofffie7 (talk) 22:55, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

In case you were wondering, I did it myself since you did not react. --Sofffie7 (talk) 21:29, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

X-Files GA Nominations

I just wanted to point out that "Dæmonicus" was no where near ready to be nominated for GA (compared here to here), and considering you did little to no additions, besides adding a picture and a short review, it probably shouldn't have been nominated in the first place. This generally isn't a big deal, but considering you did it to The X-Files main page and did little to nothing to fix the issues, I'd ask that you try to make sure your GANs are completely ready to be reviewed. However, any help you want to give us is great! I just thought I'd tell you, because I don't particularly like having to make a ton of changes just to get the articles to the level they need to be at to pass.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 00:45, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi, TBrandley. I've read through Awake, and listed several issues at its FAC. TRLIJC19 (talk) 07:04, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

RE:FAC

I don't really like voting on FAC's, but I can help out on some of the comments if you want. Thanks, Guy546(Talk) 20:34, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Just a note

Hey, TBrandley. I just thought I'd note that it's not usually the best thing when you ask users to "vote" at an FAC. Consensus has to be established for the article to be promoted, so a user leaving a vague Support !vote won't really incline the FA director/delegates to promote it. It would probably be better to ask users to offer feedback at the FAC. Cheers, TRLIJC19 (talk) 20:37, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

It was inappropriate for you to manually update the article history on that article; and I've undone your changes. Please read WP:FAC/ar where it clearly states not to manually update after the FAC is passes, as it delays bot processing. TRLIJC19 (talk) 04:12, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Your reviews

I'm going through the reviews of users in the drive, and yours in particular I'm finding a huge number of issues with. Aside from the ones I already cancelled out, reviews such as Talk:Widerøe Flight 744/GA1, where you went from review to pass in four minutes, shows me that you clearly did not read the article at all. It shows a blatant disregard for the review process, and I would need a compelling reason to not disqualify your drive "efforts" on the spot. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 23:56, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

I would also encourage you to respond at WT:GAN to the concerns raised there. At this stage it looks like editors will have to re-review all of your passed articles. AIRcorn (talk) 01:36, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
TBrandley, we have collaborated on WP a lot recently, and I really urge you to respond either here, or at WT:GAN. If you believe your reviews were sufficient, offer your reasoning. If not, apologize for the inconvenience, offer to disqualify your contributions to this month's GA drive, and try to learn from this experience. Ignoring messages will not accomplish anything, because I assume the community will invalidate your reviews if you fail to respond. TRLIJC19 (talk) 02:28, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of The Little Guy

The article The Little Guy you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:The Little Guy for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. TRLIJC19 (talk) 16:10, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

2002–03 Arsenal F.C. season

It's been a week since you chose to review this article and I haven't seen any progress. Given that it's the only article you haven't placed on hold yet, will you be reviewing this in the coming days or should I request for a second reviewer? Lemonade51 (talk) 14:22, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

William (The X-Files)

It looks like Malleus hit on everything I was going to over on the GAN talk page. The review does look better than the ones I've seen so far, so just keep improving and you should be okay. Only part I disagree with him on is the fixing yourself when it's minor; best to list everything, partially as a reminder for the reviewer if it's something they normally miss, but also so it actually "shows your work" for lack of a better term. Peer reviews: One at a time, please

Peer review rules, highlighted on the WP:PR page, limit editors to one open review at a time. This restriction is clearly stated (in red) in the instructions that greet you when you open a PR link. Nevertheless, on 21 July you ignored this and opened five reviews. I have closed all of these except the first. Please do not renominate another until the first is clear of the process. Tip

Hi, TBrandley. I was going through some GA reviews you did on articles I nominated, and I noticed you often say that a source cannot be included because it does not meet the GNG. This doesn't make sense because the GNG is a guideline on deciding if a topic deserves its own article; it has nothing to do with reliable sourcing. I think you probably thought that it was saying the GNG of sources, but it's actually topics. Just thought I'd mention this because it might confuse unexperienced nominators. :-) TRLIJC19 (talk) 03:35, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! I'll take that into account. TBrandley 18:59, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Awake FAC

Sure, I'll have a look in the next few days and leave some comments on there. Lemonade51 (talk) 16:48, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Thank you so much! TBrandley 16:50, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

An apology

I think I owe you an apology for my comments in the FLRC. You were just trying to help, and there was no reason for me to go after you. FLC needs reviewers and people willing to take the time to go through articles before nominating them. I can't tell you how many times I've encountered people who just say "Prose needs work." Don't let our behaviour discourage you from reviewing articles in the future. -- Scorpion0422 23:36, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi, TBrandley. You are mislabeling your edits as "copyediting", when they are not. First of all, renaming a section is not a minor copyedit; it is a section title change. I noticed you often rename sections or assume a style of editing is mandatory, after seeing another article this way. For example, (presumably) after you noticed The X-Files episode articles had a broadcast and reception section, you asked for it to be changed to that on a Grey's Anatomy episode article GA review. Such should be avoided, because unless it is policy, it is not required. Second, I am assuming English is not your first language, because often when you "copyedit" articles, you reword the sentence into something that is clearly not grammatically correct. Such as "the series was created to be a racially diverse"-- this clearly is improper English. Finally, please stop removing quotes from the quote boxes, because it is interchangeable to have quotes, or not have them. TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 02:45, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Awake S01E10.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Awake S01E10.jpg.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:19, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

Question

Hi, I remember a while back, you changed all the "mid-season replacement"s on Grey's Anatomy to "midseason replacement"s. Now you are changing them back, why? TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 16:44, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of July 30, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. Big apologies for the lack of the newsletter last week! First of all, we would like to welcome a new member to the project, TBrandley; we look forward to collaborating with him. We have several new achievements and updates to be announced! We have three new good articles! The articles that were promoted are "Give Peace a Chance" (previously a DYK), which was created and developed by TRLIJC19, Sadie Harris, which was developed by Sofffie7 and TRLIJC19, and "Flight", which was developed by Sofffie7 and TRLIJC19. Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy (season 3) are in the preparations for FAC. There are many things to be done for the project, in an attempt to exemplify its best work. Below is a list of tasks, and guidelines:

Tasks and Gudelines
*Character Pages
  • Main Page (Grey's Anatomy)
    • Keep an eye out for vandalism, as that tends to occur at that page.
  • General
    • Many users and IPs have been erasing "surgical resident" from fifth year residents characters' occupations in infoboxes and at List of Grey's Anatomy characters. This should all be held off until more info is given on their current occupation in the season premiere. Revert if you see this, and if it's persistent; warn users.
    • Some IPs/Users have been changing Lexie Grey's article as well as Callie Torres, going against MOS. Revert if you see this, and try to explain to the IP/User why this is wrong.

Weekly Initiative!
The weekly initiative this week is to develop a Grey's Anatomy-related stub or start-class article, using the relevant guidelines above! Model your article off of a Grey's Anatomy page with GA status. Use your Wikipedia skills to fix MOS inconsistencies, copyedit, add more information by researching, and remove unreferenced claims! Barnstars will be awarded to users who destub/de-start their articles, and get the quality level promoted to at least 'C' class! You can determine if an article meets the 'C' class criteria by asking for the reviewing coordinator, TRLIC19, or one of his delegates (Jonathan Harold Koszeghi and Sofffie7) to review the article. Please do not change the article's quality rating yourself; you must have it reviewed by a member of the reviewing committee. A list of stub and start class Grey's Anatomy articles can be found at the project's main page. Also, use the templates listed at the project page to recruit new members; the more the merrier! Take part in these initiatives, have fun destubbing/starting articles, feel proud after the article you cleaned up looks better, and be rewarded with barnstars! Help make a difference and get started! Furthermore, if you notice that any user has participated in any weekly initiative and was not rewarded, give them a barnstar ASAP!

Have fun, and don't forget to cite everything you write! We hope to see several expanded articles, and new members, soon!

Request

Hey, TBrandley. Can you choose a more natural color as a background for your talk page, as it strains my eyes every time I look at it, lol. (By the way, this is written in a comical way, and I am in no way mandating a change in color). TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 04:19, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

The Signpost: 30 July 2012

Your offer

Regarding your offer that you mentioned here, are there any caveats to it? There are actually a few articles that I've always wanted to have someone else help me improve, but I don't mind picking just one if that's all you'd rather do. I don't mind continuing to help if it means that I can get more done. Hope this is a fair enough exchange. Davejohnsan (talk) 15:22, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

Request

Hi, again. I was wondering if you could leave some PR comments for "Give Peace a Chance", as I am interested in seeing it become a FA. TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 17:06, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

Sure. I'll do so now. TBrandley 03:41, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! Also, you're in luck; a user who meets the minimum requirement to be a member of the board declined the offer, so you will be put on; pending the responses of two editors. TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 03:43, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Great! The comments are now there. Sorry it took awhile ;) TBrandley 04:26, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Notice about user page

TBrandley, per WP:ORANGE: "Creating a fake message banner that misleads readers into thinking they have new messages is prohibited". It used to be allowed, but after an RfC in February 2012, it was banned. That said, you must remove them from your user page and talk page. TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 21:13, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

They are gone now. Don't put them back.—Kww(talk) 21:29, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
Fair enough. Thanks for fixing, and letting me know. TBrandley 23:10, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

WikiCup 2012 July newsletter

We're approaching the beginning of 2012's final round. Pool A sees Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) as the leader, with 300 points being awarded for the featured article Bivalvia, and Pool B sees Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions) in the lead, with 10 good articles, and over 35 articles eligible for good topic points. Pool A sees New York City Muboshgu (submissions) in second place with a number of articles relating to baseball, while Pool B's Minnesota Ruby2010 (submissions) follows Grapple X, with a variety of contributions including the high-scoring, high-importance featured article on the 2010 film Pride & Prejudice. Ruby2010, like Grapple X, also claimed a number of good topic points; despite this, not a single point has been claimed for featured topics in the contest so far. The same is true for featured portals.

Currently, the eighth-place competitor (and so the lowest scorer who would reach the final round right now) has scored 332, more than double the 150 needed to reach the final round last year. In 2010, however, 430 was the lowest qualifying score. In this competition, we have generally seen scores closer to those in 2010 than those in 2011. Let's see what kind of benchmark we can set for future competitions! As ever, if you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
