[edit]Borrowed from Minangkabau lambung (“stomach”) and Javanese ꦭꦩ꧀ꦧꦸꦁ (lambung, “side, flank”), probably from Proto-Mon-Khmer *buŋ (“belly”), *buŋ, *uŋ (“to swell, bulge”). Compare to Old Javanese lambuṅ (“side, flank”).
