Absent Minded is a 4-Player minigame in Super Mario Party. Its name comes from the term "absentminded," referring to someone who is constantly inattentive or forgetful.

Introduction[edit]

The four players are gathered in an autumn setting. One random player tells a joke, prompting everyone to laugh. After the joke, Toadette then gestures the players to the monitor, starting the minigame.

Gameplay[edit]

In this minigame, players must pay attention to the characters onscreen and select which character is not present. To make things harder for the players, the screen may display only one character per frame, blur out the images, or rotate the tiles of the overall image. The first player to answer correctly gets five points, the second player gets three points, the third player gets two points, and the fourth player gets one point, while players who answer incorrectly get no points. After three rounds, the player with the most points wins.

On Challenge Road, this is the ninth challenge of Chestnut Forest and the 19th challenge overall. The goal is to obtain 10 points for the normal challenge and 13 points for the Master Challenge.

Ending[edit]

The winning player performs their victory animation, while the losing players perform their losing animations. Toadette continually nods in the background.
