Speaking as the writer of many of the IDW Hasbro Wiki's articles, hile I'm entirely on board with bringing across things that are already part of things we cover on here - particularly the Unicron backups - I'm not a fan of bringing over the non-TF elements of the Hasbroverse; Rom, MASK, Action Man and Micronauts are all only tangentially connected to Transformers and I don't feel like they should be on this wiki. I do think that expanding the likes of the Unicron backups, full coverage of Wrath of Karza, and bringing over the "Roadies" strip from Hasbro Heroes Sourcebook issue 1 are fairly uncontroversial ideas, and would be in favour of expanding our GI Joe vol 5/Scarlett's Strike Force cover to match how we treat Revolutionaries, but I don't think that we should merge in anything beyond that without extensive further discussion. --Riptide (talk) 19:49, 6 August 2021 (EDT)

I think that one could make the argument that Action Man is part of Barber's epic; as for the Rom and Micronauts and MASK and the like, I look at things like Joe issue 139 or Infestation 1/2's and feel like a good chunk of them fit in with those: Transformers appearing for one panel or a page but we still cover. I still think any material that was written from the outset to explicitly be in-canon with 2005 IDW is fair game. (i.e. Rom/Micronauts/M.A.S.K./Action Man yes, Clue/Jem/Vol. 1-4 G.I. Joe no.) I also think the overall scope is limited enough that we can justify the inclusion. The Hasbroverse lasted barely two years, and based on the numbers I ran, we'd only have to migrate over around 50 comic issues; 40 characters (some of which could be merged into other articles); 10 groups; 20 vehicles; and 25 locations. That's about 145 articles, barely a fraction of our current content, plus the 160 or so articles we already have that would be merged with. It's not all that much in the grand scheme.-- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:15, 6 August 2021 (EDT)

My view is that it’s the same kind of thing as our Beastformers coverage. It spun off of Transformers and did its own thing, but we still cover it because it’s still tied into Transformers and their world. (And the Hasbroverse increasingly was so as it neared its end.) When I first heard about this stuff, I kinda freaked. We're really doing this, huh? Finding the community portal and this page made me realise there was more of a consensus than I thought and the concept was more restrained than I predicted, but reading Riptide's list has me reminded how little of this stuff is explicitly related to the saga of the Transformers. But on the other hand, the Beastformers coverage as Saix mentioned is historical precedent. So I'm of two minds. "Everything between Revolution and Unicron that's actually in continuity" feels like a reasonable upper limit for sure - no earlier Joe, no Clue, no Jem - but I'm throwing my hat in for something short of that, at least until we've flagged up the attention of the old guard. I don't think Beastformers is a great match, as that line was marketed as part of the Transformers line; only the Laser Beasts section didn't actually have the Transformers brand on. Additionally, that's a primarily toy-based line, whereas this is all fiction. --Riptide (talk) 15:59, 7 August 2021 (EDT)
It's still material that was effectively established as a spin-off of Transformers. "In continuity with our biggest franchise(s)" was one of the central selling points and they wouldn't exist without Transformers, even if they didn't explicitly have the branding. I mean, IDW acquired the licenses and put together the basic premises of the series before the idea of crossing them over with Transformers was ever raised, if you go by what the creative teams said. --Riptide (talk) 19:16, 9 August 2021 (EDT)

Discussion has stalled again, so I guess we just... go ahead and include more material? (Working on Joe stuff we already cover atm.) Saix (talk) 15:20, 16 August 2021 (EDT)
