Rear-Admiral Sir Thomas Herbert was born in 1793.1 He was the son of Richard Townsend Herbert and Jane Stoughton.1 He died, unmarried.1
He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kerry in 1829.1 He was commander of the Naval Forces on South-East coast of USA.1 He fought in the China War.1 He held the office of Lord of the Admiralty between February 1852 and December 1852.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dartmouth.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Kerry.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1

Hon. Martha Cuffe was the daughter of John Cuffe, 1st Baron Desart.1 She married Reverend Nicholas Herbert, son of Edward Herbert and Hon. Frances Browne, on 8 April 1766.2 She died in 1808.1
