Commander Ernest Algernon Constable was born on 23 May 1873 at Upton Grey, Hampshire, England.2 He was the son of Marmaduke Constable and Ethel Ann Paley.2 He married, firstly, Marion Issit in January 1900.2 He married, secondly, Lucia Dennison Gay Skinner in September 1925.2 He died on 21 February 1941 at age 67 at Plymouth, Devon, England.2
He was commissioned on 15 July 1886, in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1895.2 He gained the rank of Commander in 1909 in the Calcutta Port Defence Volunteer Corps.2
