Roald ‘Le Strange' (?) married Maud de Hunstanton, daughter of Ralph fitz Herlewin, in 1158.1
He also held land in Hunstanton, Norfolk.1 It is not certain that his family were actually of Breton origin.1 Before 1122 he testified to a charter and was a tenant of Alan fitz Fleald.1 He lived at Mileham, Norfolk, England.1

John (I) Lestrange was the son of Roald ‘Le Strange' (?) and Maud de Hunstanton.2 He married Hawise (?)1 He died in 1178, by Michaelmas.1

In 1196/97 he had dealings with his female cousins (Guy's daughters) over land at Knockin, Shropshire.1 Between 1204 and 1214 negotiator on behalf of King John with Llywelyn the Great, Prince of North Wales.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1216.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire in 1216.1 In 1216 he was granted the manor of Kidderminster.1
