Lt.-Col. Leopold Richard Seymour was born on 2 June 1841.2 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir George Hamilton Seymour and Hon. Gertrude Trevor.2 He married Mary Hubbard Sturgis, daughter of Russell Sturgis, on 5 July 1871.3 He died on 30 May 1904 at age 62.2

Mary Hubbard Sturgis was the daughter of Russell Sturgis.1 She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Leopold Richard Seymour, son of Rt. Hon. Sir George Hamilton Seymour and Hon. Gertrude Trevor, on 5 July 1871.1 She married, secondly, Bertram Godfrey Falle, 1st and last Baron Portsea, son of Joshua George Falle and Mary Elizabeth Godfray, on 18 July 1906.1 She died on 27 February 1942.2
From 5 July 1871, her married name became Seymour. From 18 July 1906, her married name became Falle. After her marriage, Mary Hubbard Sturgis was styled as Baroness Portsea on 12 January 1934.

Bertram Godfrey Falle, 1st and last Baron Portsea was born on 21 November 1859.1 He was the son of Joshua George Falle and Mary Elizabeth Godfray.1 He married Mary Hubbard Sturgis, daughter of Russell Sturgis, on 18 July 1906.1 He died on 1 November 1948 at age 88.1
