     Major Desmond Eric Renforth Scarr was born on 20 May 1919 at Iquique, Chile.2 He married, firstly, Jane Mary Naomi Seymour, daughter of Beauchamp Seymour and Eva Douglas Brown, on 8 January 1954.1 He and Jane Mary Naomi Seymour were divorced in 1976.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Joan Dennis, daughter of Randal Hamilton Dennis and Dorothy Montague Gulland, in 1976.2 He died on 9 January 2013 at age 93.2
     He was with the Department of Energy.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 14th/20th Kings Hussars.1 He was chairman of the Petroleum Planning Committee.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1983.2

     He gained the rank of Major in the King's Royal Rifle Corps, 60th Rifles.1 He fought in the Palestine Campaign between 1946 and 1948.1 He held the office of High Sherrif of Worcestershire in 1970.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)2
