Claire Isabel Whitaker was born on 10 April 1908.1 She was the daughter of Major James Whitaker and Hon. Mary Isabella Sophia Louisa Weld Forester.1 She married, firstly, Paul Rycaut de Shordiche Shordiche-Churchward, son of Brig.-Gen. Paul Rycaut Stanbury Churchward and Ooryala Mary Donisthorpe, on 5 March 1935.1 She and Paul Rycaut de Shordiche Shordiche-Churchward were divorced in 1956.2 She married, secondly, Francis Richard Rusby Kaye, son of George Rusby Kaye, on 14 August 1956.2 She died on 16 October 1981 at age 73, in a car accident.1
From 5 March 1935, her married name became Churchward.1 In 1946 She inherited Winsley Hall from her father.1 From 14 August 1956, her married name became Kaye.2

He fought in the Afghan War between 1878 and 1880.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He was Commanding Officer of the Middlesex Infantry Brigade between 1911 and 1913.1 He was Commanding Officer of the No. 6 District, Northern Command between 1913 and 1915.1 He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1917, in the Mediterranean.1 He lived at Ridware Hall, Staffordshire, England.1

Paul Rycaut de Shordiche Shordiche-Churchward was born on 16 August 1907.1 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Paul Rycaut Stanbury Churchward and Ooryala Mary Donisthorpe.1 He married, firstly, Claire Isabel Whitaker, daughter of Major James Whitaker and Hon. Mary Isabella Sophia Louisa Weld Forester, on 5 March 1935.1 He and Claire Isabel Whitaker were divorced in 1956.2 He married, secondly, Grace Lucy Walkey, daughter of Reverend James Rowland Walkey and Bijou Paske, in July 1956.1 He died on 30 April 1981 at age 73.1
Paul Rycaut de Shordiche Shordiche-Churchward used the pen-name of Robert Churchward.1 Paul Rycaut de Shordiche Shordiche-Churchward also went by the nick-name of Bob.1 He was given the name of Paul Rycaut de Shordiche Churchward at birth.1 He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1926, in the service of the Royal Norfolk Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1929.1 In 1932 he lead the British Matto Grosso Expedition in Brazil.1 He wrote the book Wilderness of Fools, published 1936.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Coldstream Guards.1 In 1956 his name was legally changed to Paul Rycaut de Shordiche Shordiche-Churchward by Deed Polll.1 He wrote the book Explorer Lost, published 1957.1 He wrote the book Against Hunting, published 1965.1
