     Sir David Herries of Terregles was the son of John Herries of Terregles.2 He married Margaret Crichton, daughter of Sir Robert Crichton of Sanquhar and Elizabeth Erskine.1 He died after 26 August 1495.1
     He lived at Terregles, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.1
