Hon. Edith Laura St. John was born on 8 September 1879.2 She was the daughter of Beauchamp Moubray St. John, 17th Baron Saint John of Bletso and Helen Charlotte Thornton.2 She married George Lawson Johnston, 1st Baron Luke, son of John Lawson Johnston and Elizabeth Elliott Lawson, on 4 December 1902.1 She died on 2 August 1941 at age 61.1
From 4 December 1902, her married name became Lawson Johnston.1 She was awarded the Order of Mercy with bar.2 After her marriage, Hon. Edith Laura St. John was styled as Baroness Luke on 9 July 1929.

Hon. Hugh de Beauchamp Lawson Johnston was born on 7 April 1914.1 He was the son of George Lawson Johnston, 1st Baron Luke and Hon. Edith Laura St. John.1 He married Audrey Warren Pearl, daughter of Colonel Frederic Warren Pearl, on 18 July 1946.1 He died on 12 October 2002 at age 88.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1938 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th Battalion, Bedfordshire and Herefordshire Regiment (TA.)1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1951.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Bedfordshire between 1961 and 1962.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Bedfordshire in 1964.1 He was director of Bovril Ltd.1

Audrey Warren Pearl was born on 5 February 1915.2 She was the daughter of Colonel Frederic Warren Pearl.1 She married Hon. Hugh de Beauchamp Lawson Johnston, son of George Lawson Johnston, 1st Baron Luke and Hon. Edith Laura St. John, on 18 July 1946.1 She died on 11 January 2011 at age 95.2
On 7 May 1915 she survivied the sinking of R.M.S. Lusitania.2 From 18 July 1946, her married name became Lawson Johnston.1
