He was the son of Maximilian Egon Prinz zu Fürstenberg and Wilhelmine Aloyse Karoline Sidonia Marie Josepha Adelheid Hedwige Gräfin von Schönburg-Glauchau. He married Teressa Amalia Franziska Elizabeth Maria Prinzessin zur Lippe-Weissenfeld, daughter of Alfred Oktavio Arthur Anton Maria Josef Prinz zur Lippe-Weissenfeld and Franziska Gräfin von Schönborn-Buchheim, on 9 April 1960. He died on 2 November 1969 at age 43 at Vienna, Austria^G.
     He gained the title of Prinz zu Fürstenberg. He was given the name of Friedrich Maximilian Egon Hubertus Joseph Maria Karl Anna zu Fürstenberg at birth.
