Rachel Pauncefort was the daughter of Robert Pauncefort.1 She married Thomas Bruce, 7th Earl of Kincardine, son of Alexander Bruce, 4th Earl of Kincardine and Christian Bruce, in 1699.1 She died on 17 March 1753.1
Her married name became Bruce. After her marriage, Rachel Pauncefort was styled as Countess of Kincardine in 1721.

Alexander Bruce, 4th Earl of Kincardine was the son of Robert Bruce, Lord Broomhall and Helen Skene.1 He married Christian Bruce, daughter of Robert Bruce and Catherine Preston.1 He died on 10 October 1706.1

Sir George Bruce was the son of Sir Edward Bruce, 1st of Blairhall and Alison Reid.1 He married Margaret Primrose, daughter of Archibald Primrose.1 He died on 6 May 1625.1
He bought Carnock from Sir A. Lindsay.1 He was appointed Knight by King James VI.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Culross.1 In 1597 he built Culross Palace.1 Circa 1600 he bought Werty Gellett (renamed Broomhall) from John Pitcairn of that Ilk.1 He was a member of the Committee to negotiate union with England in 1604.1 He lived at Carnock, Fife, ScotlandG.1
