     Lady Mary Louisa Lambton was the daughter of John George Lambton, 1st Earl of Durham and Lady Louisa Elizabeth Grey.1 She married James Bruce, 12th Earl of Kincardine, son of General Thomas Bruce, 11th Earl of Kincardine and Elizabeth Oswald, on 7 November 1846.1 She died on 9 March 1898.1
     She was awarded the Imperial Order of the Crown of India (C.I.)1 From 7 November 1846, her married name became Bruce. After her marriage, Lady Mary Louisa Lambton was styled as Countess of Elgin and Kincardine on 7 November 1846.

Elizabeth Mary Cumming-Bruce1

     Elizabeth Mary Cumming-Bruce was the daughter of Charles Lennox Cumming-Bruce of Roseisle and Kinnaird and Mary Elizabeth Bruce.2 She married James Bruce, 12th Earl of Kincardine, son of General Thomas Bruce, 11th Earl of Kincardine and Elizabeth Oswald, on 22 April 1841.1 She died on 7 July 1843.1
     She was also known as Mary Elizabeth Cumming-Bruce.2 Her married name became Bruce. After her marriage, Elizabeth Mary Cumming-Bruce was styled as Countess of Elgin and Kincardine on 14 November 1841.

Charles Lennox Cumming-Bruce of Roseisle and Kinnaird1

     Charles Lennox Cumming-Bruce of Roseisle and Kinnaird was born on 20 February 1790.1 He was the son of Colonel Sir Alexander Penrose Cumming-Gordon of Altyre, 1st Bt. and Helen Grant.2 He married Mary Elizabeth Bruce, daughter of James Bruce of Kinnaird, on 20 June 1822.1 He died on 1 January 1875 at age 84.1
     His name was legally changed to Charles Lennox Cumming-Bruce.1 He was given the name of Charles Lennox Cumming at birth.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Inverness between 1831 and 1840.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Elgin and Nairn between 1840 and 1868.2 He lived at Dunphhail and Roseisie, Stirlingshire, ScotlandG.2

     Charles Bruce, 9th Earl of Kincardine was born on 6 July 1732.1 He was the son of William Bruce, 8th Earl of Kincardine and Jane Roberton.1 He married Martha Whyte, daughter of Thomas Whyte and Martha Hagges, on 1 June 1759.1 He died on 14 May 1771 at age 38.3
     He succeeded as the 9th Lord Bruce of Torry [S., 1647] on 8 September 1740.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Kincardine [S., 1647] on 8 September 1740.1 He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Elgin [S., 1633] on 10 February 1747.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Bruce of Kinloss [S., 1633] on 10 February 1747.3

Martha Whyte1

     Martha Whyte was born on 27 May 1741.3 She was the daughter of Thomas Whyte and Martha Hagges.4,3 She married Charles Bruce, 9th Earl of Kincardine, son of William Bruce, 8th Earl of Kincardine and Jane Roberton, on 1 June 1759.1 She died on 21 June 1810 at age 69.1
     She was Governess to HRH Princess Charlotte of Wales.1 From 1 June 1759, her married name became Bruce. After her marriage, Martha Whyte was styled as Countess of Elgin and Kincardine on 1 June 1759.

     General William Robert Bruce, 10th Earl of Kincardine was born on 28 January 1764.1 He was the son of Charles Bruce, 9th Earl of Kincardine and Martha Whyte.1 He died on 15 July 1771 at age 7.1
     He succeeded as the 6th Lord Bruce of Kinloss [S., 1633] on 14 May 1771.1 He succeeded as the 10th Lord Bruce of Torry [S., 1647] on 14 May 1771.1 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Elgin [S., 1633] on 14 May 1771.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Kincardine [S., 1647] on 14 May 1771.1

     William Bruce, 8th Earl of Kincardine was the son of Thomas Bruce, 7th Earl of Kincardine and Rachel Pauncefort.1 He married Jane Roberton, daughter of James Roberton and Euphemia Burnett, on 14 February 1726.1 He died on 8 September 1740.1
     He succeeded as the 8th Lord Bruce of Torry [S., 1647] on 23 March 1739/40.1 He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Kincardine [S., 1647] on 23 March 1739/40.1
