     Ada Mary King, Baroness Wentworth was born on 26 February 1871.1 She was the daughter of Ralph Gordon Noel King-Milbanke, 2nd Earl of Lovelace and Fannie Heriot.1 She died on 18 June 1917 at age 46, unmarried.1
     She succeeded as the 18th Lord Despenser [E., 1387] on 28 August 1906, de jure.2 She succeeded as the 14th Baroness Wentworth [E., 1529] on 28 August 1906, suo jure.2

     Mary Caroline Stuart-Wortley was the daughter of Rt. Hon. James Archibald Stuart-Wortley and Hon. Jane Lawley.2,1 She married Ralph Gordon Noel King-Milbanke, 2nd Earl of Lovelace, son of William King-Noel, 1st Earl of Lovelace and Hon. Ada Augusta Byron, on 30 December 1880.2 She died on 18 April 1941.2
     Her married name became King. After her marriage, Mary Caroline Stuart-Wortley was styled as Countess of Lovelace on 29 December 1893.

     Rt. Hon. James Archibald Stuart-Wortley was born on 3 July 1805.2 He was the son of James Archibald Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie, 1st Baron Wharncliffe of Wortley and Lady Caroline Elizabeth Mary Crichton.1,2 He married Hon. Jane Lawley, daughter of Paul Beilby Lawley-Thompson, 1st Baron Wenlock and Hon. Caroline Neville, on 6 May 1846.2 He died on 22 August 1881 at age 76.2
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.3 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1831 entitled to practise as a barrister.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Halifax between 1835 and 1837.4,3 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1841.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bute between 1842 and 1859.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1846.4 He held the office of Recorder of the City of London.2 He held the office of Solicitor-General between November 1856 and May 1857.4

     Hon. Frances Berkeley was the daughter of William Berkeley, 4th Baron Berkeley of Stratton and Frances Temple.3,4 She married, firstly, William Byron, 4th Baron Byron of Rochdale, son of William Byron, 3rd Baron Byron of Rochdale and Hon. Elizabeth Chaworth, on 3 December 1720 at Kensington, London, EnglandG.1,3 She married, secondly, Sir Thomas Hay of Alderston, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Hay of Alderston, 1st Bt. and Catherine Suttie, on 31 July 1740.1 She died circa September 1757.3 She was buried on 21 September 1757 at Twickenham, London, EnglandG.3 Her will was proven (by probate) on 2 November 1757.3
     From 3 December 1720, her married name became Byron. After her marriage, Hon. Frances Berkeley was styled as Baroness Byron of Rochdale on 3 December 1720. From 31 July 1740, her married name became Hay. Her last will was dated 3 May 1748.

     William Berkeley, 4th Baron Berkeley of Stratton was the son of John Berkeley, 1st Baron Berkeley of Stratton and Christiana Riccard.1 He married Frances Temple, daughter of Sir John Temple and Jane Yarner.1 He died on 24 March 1740/41 at Bruton, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He was buried at Bruton, Somerset, EnglandG.1 His will (dated 2 June 1737) was proven (by probate) on 20 April 1741.1
     He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] circa 1696.1 He held the office of Master of the Rolls [Ireland] between 20 June 1696 and October 1731.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Berkeley of Stratton, Cornwall [E., 1658] on 27 February 1696/97.1 He held the office of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster between 20 September 1710 and 1714.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 21 September 1710.1 He held the office of First Lord of Trade and the Plantations from 1714 to 1715.1

Sir Thomas Hay of Alderston, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir Thomas Hay of Alderston, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir John Hay of Alderston, 1st Bt. and Catherine Suttie.1 He married, firstly, Eleanor Dalrymple, daughter of Hon. Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 1st Bt. and Marion Hamilton, on 26 August 1724.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Frances Berkeley, daughter of William Berkeley, 4th Baron Berkeley of Stratton and Frances Temple, on 31 July 1740.2 He married, thirdly, Peggy Don, daughter of John Don, on 14 October 1761.1 He died on 26 November 1769, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Dragoons.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Hay, of Alderston, East Lothian [N.S., 1703] in 1706.1

William Byron, 5th Baron Byron of Rochdale1

     William Byron, 5th Baron Byron of Rochdale was born on 5 November 1722.1 He was the son of William Byron, 4th Baron Byron of Rochdale and Hon. Frances Berkeley.2 He married Elizabeth Shaw, daughter of Charles Shaw and Frances Lyford, on 28 March 1747, with £70,000.2,3 He died on 19 May 1798 at age 75, without surviving issue.1 He was buried on 10 June 1798 at Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, EnglandG.3,4
     He succeeded as the 5th Baron Byron of Rochdale, co. Lancaster [E., 1643] on 8 August 1736.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.3 He held the office of Master of Royal Stag Hounds between 1763 and 1765.3 On 26 January 1765 he killed his cousin William Chaworth, either in a duel or during a less formal fight in a room the two men had occupied alone for a time following a dinner among a club of gentlemen of the county at which a quarrel had flared up.1 From 16 April 1765 to 17 April 1765 he was tried by his peers, found guilty of manslaughter (119 to 4) but was merely fined and formally discharged under the Statute of Privilege.1

Captain Hon. George Byron

     Admiral Hon. John Byron was born on 8 November 1723.2 He was the son of William Byron, 4th Baron Byron of Rochdale and Hon. Frances Berkeley.3 He married Sophia Trevannion, daughter of John Trevannion, on 8 September 1748.2 He died on 10 April 1786 at age 62.2
     He gained the rank of Midshipman in the Royal Navy, on board H.M.S. Wager in Lord Anson’s Circumnavigating Squadron.2 Between 1743 and 1748 he was a castaway on a desert island in the South Seas.2 He wrote the book a Narrative, published 1768, about his time as a castaway (ASIN: B007RGS39K.)2 He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy. He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4
