Reverend Herbert Chidley Coote was born on 8 July 1861.1 He was the son of Rev. Sir Algernon Coote, 11th Bt. and Cecilia Matilda Plumptre.2 He married Elizabeth Margaret Collins, daughter of Brenton Haliburton Collins, on 1 June 1886.1 He died on 14 May 1919 at age 57.1
