Charlotte Letitia Caroline Arbuthnot was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Charles George James Arbuthnot and Hon. Charlotte Eliza Vivian.1 She married Sir Herbert Harley Murray, son of Rt. Rev. George Murray and Lady Sarah Maria Hay-Drummond, on 12 July 1859.1 She died in 1884.1

Lt.-Gen. Charles George James Arbuthnot was born on board the frigate, H.M.S. Juno in 1801.2 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Charles Arbuthnot and Marcia Mary Anne Clapcote-Lisle.3 He was baptised at Lisbon, PortugalG.2 He married Hon. Charlotte Eliza Vivian, daughter of Richard Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Vivian of Glynn and of Truro and Eliza Champion de Crespigny, on 14 August 1833.2 He died on 21 October 1870.4
He held the office of Page of Honour to King George III in 1812.2 He gained the rank of Ensign in 1816 in the Grenadier Guards.2 He gained the rank of Captain in 1820 in the 28th Regiment.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1825 in the 72nd Regiment.2 He was commander of the 90th Light Infantry between 1831 and 1838.2 He gained the rank of General in the 72nd Duke of Albany's Own Highlanders.2
