     Major George Arthur Delmé Murray was born on 23 January 1879.1 He was the son of George Delmé Murray and Sarah Lovey.1 He married Dorothea Emily Anne Webb, daughter of T. Alexander Webb, on 29 November 1906.1 He died on 30 September 1944 at age 65.1
     He fought in the Boer War, where he won the King's and Queen's medals, with clasps.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Shropshire Light Infantry.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1
