     Lieutenant Thomas Beattie Grierson was born on 11 October 1826 at Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. William Grierson and Jane Beattie.1 He died on 4 September 1857 at age 30 at Umbala, IndiaG, from a fever.1,2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 8th The King's Regiment.2 He fought in the Indian Mutiny.2

     Mary Margaret Grierson was baptised on 24 April 1789 at Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of Sir Robert Grierson of Lag, 5th Bt. and Margaret Dalzell.1 She married Major Hamilton Maxwell, son of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 4th Bt. and Katharine Blair.1 She died on 3 December 1871 at age 82 at Huntly LodgeG.2
     Her married name became Maxwell.1

Major Hamilton Maxwell1

     Major Hamilton Maxwell was born in 1790.2 He was the son of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 4th Bt. and Katharine Blair.1,3 He married Mary Margaret Grierson, daughter of Sir Robert Grierson of Lag, 5th Bt. and Margaret Dalzell.1 He died on 17 June 1829.3 He was also reported to have died on 14 December 1854 at Friar's CarseG.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 42nd Highlanders.3 He gained the rank of Major in the 43rd Bengal Infantry.1

     Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 3rd Bt. and Magdalen Blair.2 He married Katharine Blair, daughter of David Blair, in 1776.2 He died on 17 February 1812.2
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Maxwell, of Monreith, co. Wigtown [N.S., 1681] on 22 August 1771.2

     James Crichton of Friarscarse married Elizabeth Douglas Grierson, daughter of Sir Robert Grierson of Lag, 5th Bt. and Margaret Dalzell, on 14 November 1810.1,2 He died on 3 May 1823.2
     He was also known as James Creighton.2

     Gilbert William Frederick Grierson was born on 29 July 1861 at Bitteswell, Hampshire, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Commander William Charles Grierson and Emma Sophia Comerford.1 He married Margaret Rose Wylie, daughter of John Eaton McLeod Wylie and Rose Stacey, on 2 March 1889 at St. Mary's Church, Balham, Surrey, EnglandG.1,3 He died on 15 February 1906 at age 44 at Weybridge, Surrey, England.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Scottish Borderers Militia.1

     Margaret Rose Wylie was born on 31 December 1863 at Clapham, Surrey, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of John Eaton McLeod Wylie and Rose Stacey.1,2 She married, firstly, Gilbert William Frederick Grierson, son of Commander William Charles Grierson and Emma Sophia Comerford, on 2 March 1889 at St. Mary's Church, Balham, Surrey, EnglandG.1,3 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Ponsonby Glenn Huggins, son of Horatio James Huggins and Letitia Laborde, on 18 June 1912.1 She died on 8 December 1944 at age 80 at Kensington, London, England.2
     From 2 March 1889, her married name became Grierson.1 From 18 June 1912, her married name became Huggins.1
