Alexander Home, 7th Earl of Home was the son of Charles Home, 6th Earl of Home and Anne Purvis.1 He married Lady Anne Kerr, daughter of Lt.-Gen. William Kerr, 2nd Marquess of Lothian and Lady Jane Campbell.1 He died in 1720.
He succeeded as the 12th Lord Home [S., 1473] on 22 July 1706.1 He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Home [S., 1605] on 22 July 1706.1 He succeeded as the 7th Lord Dunglas [S., 1605] on 22 July 1706.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1710 and 1713.1 From 1715 to 1716 at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, he was imprisoned on suspicion of being a Jacobite.1 He had six other children.1
