Sir George William Gunning, 2nd Bt. was born on 15 February 1763.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Gunning, 1st Bt. and Anne Sutton.2 He married Hon. Elizabeth Bridgeman, daughter of Henry Bridgeman, 1st Baron Bradford of Bradford and Elizabeth Simpson, on 10 February 1794.2 He died on 7 April 1823 at age 60.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wigan between 1800 and 1802.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hastings between 1802 and 1806.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Grinstead between 1812 and 1818.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Gunning, of Eltham, co.
