Donald 'Gruamach' Macdonald, 4th of Sleat was the son of Donald 'Gallach' Macdonald, 3rd of Sleat and Agnes Macdonald.1 He married, firstly, Catherine Macdonald of Clanranald, daughter of Alexander Macallan Macdonald, 7th of Clanranald and Moidart.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Macleod of Harris, daughter of William 'Dubh' MacLeod, 7th of MacLeod and unknown daughter Maclean.1 He died in 1539 at Eilean Donan CastleG, shot from the battlements.1

Donald 'Gallach' Macdonald, 3rd of Sleat was the son of Uisdean Macdonald, 1st of Sleat and Finvola MacIan.1 He married Agnes Macdonald, daughter of Sir Ian 'Cathanach' Macdonald and Sheila Savage.2 He died in 1506, killed by his half-brother, Archibald.1

Uisdean Macdonald, 1st of Sleat was born illegitimately.1 He was the son of Alexander Macdonald, 10th Earl of Ross and unknown daughter Roy.1 He married Finvola MacIan, daughter of unknown MacIan of Ardnamurchan. He died in 1498.1
He was also known as Hugh Macdonald.1 On 28 June 1469 he had a charter of the lands of Sleat in the Isle of Skye, Skirhough in South Uist and Benbecula in North Uist, from his half-brother, John Macdonald, 11th Earl of Ross.1

Angus 'Mor' Macdonald, Lord of the Isles was the son of Donald, Lord of the Isles and unknown daughter Stewart.1 He married unknown daughter Campbell, daughter of Sir Colin Campbell of Lochow. He died circa 1296.1
Are descended from the eldest s of the Lord of the Isles.2 Chiefs of the name and arms of Macdonald.2 Angus 'Mor' Macdonald, Lord of the Isles also went by the nick-name of Angus 'Mor' (or in English, 'the Elder.1') He gained the title of Lord of the Isles.1 In 1263 Battle of Largs.1 In 1266 he became a vassal of the Scottish Crown under the 1266 Treaty of Perth between Magnus IV, King of Norway and Alexander III, King of Scotland.1 In 1291/92 he supported Robert Bruce's claim to the Scottish throne.1
