Create a recording on Mac
With Voice Memos, you use your Mac as a recording device. To create a recording, use the built-in microphone, a supported headset, or an external mic. To create a stereo recording, connect a stereo input source to your Mac, such as a stereo mic.
You can listen to your Voice Memos recordings on any Apple device where you’re signed in to the same Apple Account. You can also see your recordings on all your Apple devices
Go to the Voice Memos app on your Mac.
Click to begin recording.
Click to pause recording; click Resume to continue.
To save the recording, click Done.
Your recording is saved with the name of your location (if “Location-based Naming” is selected in settings and you allow Voice Memos access to the location of your Mac). Otherwise, your recording is saved with the name “New Recording.”
You can select a saved recording to play it or make edits, such as replacing part of it, adding to it, trimming it, or renaming it.
