Welcome!
Marina
Why are you revert my edit, 3-UP Hewer? I fixed the grammar and tense errors that you made when you edited the page. At Inkipedia, we use American English grammar and spelling. Please try not to post grammatically incorrect text.
Sorry but I'm not sure what you're talking about. I reverted no edits, only made my own, and I'm pretty sure I used American English grammar.3-UP Hewer (talk) 21:31, 29 January 2021 (UTC) My use of past tense was due to Splatfests no longer occurring, if that is what you mean.3-UP Hewer (talk) 21:38, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- You undid my edit to the Marina page. Also, Splatfests are still happening as of date in Splatoon 2. EmiTalk 22:17, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
I am sorry, if I did reverse your edit I did not intend to do so and only was attempting to correct the page's grammar.3-UP Hewer (talk) 22:20, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Well you were actually making the page's grammar incorrect. Please refer to a grammar guide if you are having trouble understanding this. EmiTalk 11:32, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
I've noticed you changed the order of some of the navboxes, may I ask why do you think it is a better sorting than what is currently which is alphabetically? Shahar (talk) 20:39, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- I just think it makes more sense and looks neater to put things in a more logical order. 3-UP Hewer (talk · contributions) 07:10, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
Please stop changing the order of navboxes, the current order just looks like one person's interpretation of importance, there's a reason why there's notes, it's to keep things organized and help newcomers and avoid changing the order like what you are doing. Please undo your edits. Shahar (talk) 12:49, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
- Not intending to be disrespectful, but as I've said, the notes are useless because anyone could figure out the order just by looking; if it's that important to prevent newcomers from changing the order, we could just semi-protect the navboxes or put hidden notes on them. As for the orders, I think that the ones I have been using are more organized and make navigation easier, and isn't really a debatable interpretation that, say, Judd is more important than Ammoses Shellendorf. Besides, there already were a few navboxes where we did order things this way, like the weapon navboxes, the 'Enemies' sections from the character navboxes, and the Octarians navbox. If there really is a lot of disagreement over this, then I suppose I could try a proposal/vote, though I'm not fully sure how those work on this wiki. 3-UP Hewer (talk · contributions) 13:03, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
- You are welcome to open a discussion in Ink Pump or in Discord, the notes are not useless as many people might not know how things were sorted out or how they were grouped, (such as what is rarity on gear and why was it grouped in a certain way), it's a harmless note. About the weapon navboxes, they were sorted by how the game sorts them: by main, sub and special. They are already grouped by classes so it makes sense to sort them that way. Please do not revert things without discussion as it just adds unnecessary edits. Alphabetical order is the best for sorting out lists. Shahar (talk) 13:23, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
- I was referring to how the weapons within each section were ordered, which is the same style of ordering that I've been implementing into the navboxes. To me, it seems more consistent if all navboxes have the same style of ordering. Also, rarity is brought up on every single page about gear, so a reader seeing the navbox on one of those pages can definitely be expected to know what rarity is, and in every other case, a person intelligent enough to read and understand the wiki probably knows what alphabetical or chronological order is and could tell what order is being used with a single look at the navbox. Hi Hewer, firstly, thank you for your recent contributions! As Shahar points out, for big changes, we tend to discuss them on Discord or Ink Pump first. Though I'd argue that the ordering in a one-off way is not a big change, to standardize everything becomes a lot of work. A change to navbox would affect virtually the whole site. It's these sweeping changes we discuss first to make sure we've considered what's already there, and if there's an appetite for it.
I also want to dissuade you from removing content, as it can be seen as vandalism. Cleaning up articles is absolutely okay, and re-wording to be easier to read is to be encouraged. What is not good is to remove content through clean-up, which includes notes left. If it was discussed first, edits like this would have been resolved to a "this should be a note on the template page but not included in the articles, to help future editors understand why this order was chosen."
Each article is in a set layout, and changing of this layout, again, should be discussed. Remember, each page may be the first that a new reader sees, and will not necessarily know about the nomenclature we use here. Helping new readers like with the edit you made here is good.

User NIWA template
Hi Hewer, I broke the NIWA template, sorry about that. Here it is again:

Splatfest changes
Hi Hewer, I noticed you made several rather significant changes to various Splatfest-related listings. I'm not here to argue against these changes per se, as I don't know what your reasons were for making them.
However, therein lies the issue: these changes were made without giving any of us other editors any notice or opportunity to discuss whether these changes were warranted. I notice that with regards to navbox changes in particular, you have in the past been warned by multiple staff members against making changes such as this without prior discussion or consensus.
If you feel strongly that these changes are necessary, I would invite you to discuss the need for them either on the relevant talk page(s) or in Ink Pump. Thank you. Driftin Soul (talk) 09:54, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Your redirects
Hi, I suggest only creating redirects which are likely to be used. Several of them have been deleted already. Anemoia [Talk!] 19:48, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'm making them because I think they're useful, I've searched up shorthands like these several times before and been surprised to not be redirected. Anyway, please be more specific - which ones got deleted? Hewer (talk · contributions) 19:50, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- I sadly see no instance where users would look for Invincibility from a Super Star and similar. And on another note I would like to know the reasoning behind the redirects of Pulpz and Pulpz vs. No Pulp being a thing. Perfectionist (talk) 20:36, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- The Splatfest is called "Pulpz vs. No Pulp" on the Splatoon Base website, which admittedly is probably a typo but seeing as that same page on the website is the source for several Splatfest article titles (apparently including the pulp Splatfest according to edit history), I don't see the harm in making it a redirect. Hewer (talk · contributions) 20:43, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- This page should be used as a source for content that cannot be sourced elsewhere. E.g.: Japanese Splatfest names. Anemoia [Talk!] 20:45, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Eat It vs. Save It, Fam vs. Friend, and (apparently) Pulp vs. No-Pulp had their titles changed due to that page, despite all being English Splatfests. Hewer (talk · contributions) 20:48, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oh yeah and Salsa vs. Guac too Hewer (talk · contributions) 20:49, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Uh, sorry to break it to you, but some of these are taken from the team names, which are visible in-game next to your Splatfest title. As for No-Pulp, it currently uses the Splatoon Base name (No Pulp) but there was discussion of reverting it for this very reason. Anemoia [Talk!] 21:02, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Click the links. I was linking the former names in an attempt to make the change clear. Hewer (talk · contributions) 21:04, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- I did.
- Splatfest names are: Eat It First vs. Save It for Last, Family vs. Friends, Pulp vs. No-Pulp and Salsa vs. Guacamole.
Team names are: Eat It/Save It, Fam/Friend, Pulp/No-Pulp and Salsa/Guac. - Anemoia [Talk!] 21:07, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- That's precisely the point I'm making. "Eat It First vs. Save It for Last" is a name taken from Splatoon Base, despite all prior material to my knowledge using "Eat It vs. Save It", the in-game name. Splatoon Base is an acceptable source. Hewer (talk · contributions) 21:14, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Well, I'll give you this one, but Family/Friends and Salsa/Guacamole are used in official art. If "Eat It vs. Save It" is the non-Splatoon Base name, that is what it should be named.
- Things can change. These names were originally all considered trustworthy, but due to noticing typos such as "Pulpz" (which is only visible on Splatoon Base's mobile website, by the way) and "Donny" instead of "Donnie", we've got reasons to say that Splatoon Base cannot take precedence over in-game content. - I'd also like to point out that the rationale given for the creation/retention of some of today's redirects being "[other thing] has gone uncontested for years" is not a reason in and of itself. In the past we have discussed and subsequently deleted redirects that have been around for even longer. Driftin Soul (talk) 21:07, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Fair enough Hewer (talk · contributions) 21:14, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, please discontinue adding unnecessary redirects, such as Ninja Blue or Ninja Red. It's highly unlikely these will ever be used. OrderSquid38 [Talk] 14:09, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- They're taken from the Private Battle names so I'd say there's a chance they would be useful. Hewer (talk · contributions) 14:18, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- "Without", "with", and numerous others are very very unlikely to be searched at all and the splatfest page also lists every splatfest. Just because you think people will search it doesn't mean others will. OrderSquid38 [Talk] 14:37, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
- I tried to search several of these long before I started making them. Hewer (talk · contributions) 14:38, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

Repeat edits
Hey, staff has noticed you've been making a lot of successive edits to the same pages within a short span of time. I can speak from firsthand experience that it can sometimes be hard to notice everything that may need fixing on a page on the first pass, but we'd still like to remind you that you can use 'Show preview' if necessary, especially when it comes to faulty wikicode elements that would be more obvious in the context of a preview. Thanks! Driftin Soul [Talk!] 20:54, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
Smash Fighter page
Hey, I noticed you removed some info from the Inkling (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) page, with your edit summary stating you "[did not] think" it was correct. This is not appropriate editing behavior; if you doubt the veracity of page info you should at minimum bring it up with other editors, if not attempt to verify it yourself, before removing it.
The removed info in fact was correct, so I have re-added it. Please keep this feedback in mind for the future, and thank you for your time. Driftin Soul [Talk!] 21:15, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, I assumed it was wrong after not finding anything on SmashWiki. I'll try to verify things myself in future. Hewer (talk · contributions) 21:23, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
Alice page edit
Hey, sorry about that reversion on the Alice Peralta page, that's entirely my bad. I misread the diff and thought a comma was being added, not removed. Thanks for double checking! Driftin Soul [Talk!] 22:10, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
