Sprinkler of Doom

Shiver's Team Rock Sprinkler of Doom inking a large area

The Sprinkler of Doom is a feature of Tricolor Turf War battles in Splatoon 3.

Description

The Sprinkler of Doom appears exclusively during Tricolor Turf War in the second half of a Splatfest. It functions similarly to a large Sprinkler and appears on the stage after a player on one of the attacking teams successfully activates the Ultra Signal. When the signal is activated, a member of Deep Cut will send down a Sprinkler of Doom that will ink turf in the corresponding team's color. Once a Sprinkler of Doom is summoned, it will remain on the stage permanently for the rest of the match. On most Tricolor stages, up to two Sprinklers of Doom can be placed during a match; only one can appear on the Grand Splatlands Bowl as acquiring the second Ultra Signal will have the respective team's idols appear on the stage, rhythmically firing Fizzbangs from the cannons in support of their team instead. Turf inked by a Sprinkler of Doom will increase the Special Gauge of both members of the offense team, regardless of which one secures the Ultra Signal.

Sprinklers of Doom will be placed in predetermined spots. When a team activates their first Ultra Signal, the Sprinkler of Doom will appear on a designated spot on their half of the stage. If the same team manages to activate the second signal, the second Sprinkler is placed in the center of the stage.

Quotes

Did we mention the Ultra Signal? And the Sprinkler of Doom? Think of the Ultra Signal as a beacon that attacking teams try to secure. If they can hold it, it'll summon Deep Cut and the Sprinkler of Doom! Which is, well... a giant sprinkler... of doom. Linguistics doesn't approve.
