German Economists Abroad (GEA)
The German Economists Abroad (GEA) organize an annual two-day conference in the week before Christmas. The Christmas Meeting offers German economists who work abroad a chance to meet each other, discuss research, and interact with colleagues in Germany. GEA was founded in 2004 by Berthold Herrendorf, Michele Tertilt and Walter Trockel. Since that time, the Christmas Meetings were hosted by the institutions listed below.
Currently, the organizing committee consists of Stephan Heblich (Bristol), Theresa Kuchler (NYU), Michaela Pagel (Columbia) Carolin Pflueger (UBC), Holger Sieg (Penn), Johannes Stroebel (NYU), and Felix Tintelnot (Chicago). Former members of the organizing committee are Michele Tertilt, Petra Moser, Volker Nocke, Ralph Ossa, and Karl Schmedders.
To join the GEA mailing list and receive information about the next meetings, please send an email to Michèle Tertilt (tertilt(at)uni-mannheim.de).
