The Peel Group

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Peel Group is a British infrastructure and real estate business, based in Manchester. It was founded by John Whittaker in 1973. It started by redeveloping empty quarries into industrial sites and retail parks.[1] In 2022 it owned 13 million square feet (1.2 km2) of buildings, and over 33,000 acres (13,000 ha) of land and water. Peel still has minority stakes in its former ports business and MediaCityUK. [2] It developed the Trafford Centre and sold it in 2011 to Capital Shopping Centres for £1.6 billion.[3]
