James E. Allison (born May 13, 1975) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey defenceman. He played a career total of 372 games in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, and Florida Panthers.

Before playing in the NHL, Allison played 1 year with the Windsor Spitfires and 3 years with the Detroit Jr. Red Wings of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Allison was drafted with the 44th overall pick by the Calgary Flames in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He played 64 games with the Flames, 142 games with the Chicago Blackhawks, 37 more games with the Flames, 55 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, 67 games with Nashville Predators and 7 games with the Florida Panthers. Allison retired from playing professional ice hockey in 2007. Since retiring, Allison started The Hockey Force Hockey Camp which helps teach kids both hockey and life skills which helps them on and off the ice.[1]
