Grasshopper Club Zürich is a Swiss multisports club based in Zürich. It is best known for its football team. It is the most successful football club in the country. Grasshopper won the most national championship titles (27) and Swiss Cups (19).

Grasshopper was founded on 1 September 1886 by Tom E. Griffith, an English student. The first Swiss championships ( "Serie A") were held in 1897–98 and were won by Grasshopper.
