George Winston (December 26, 1949 – June 4, 2023) was an American pianist. He was born in Michigan in 1949 but moved to Montana as a child. Most of his music was about the four seasons and landscapes in the United States.

He released his first album in 1972. Winston became popular with his 1980 album, Autumn, which was followed by Winter into Spring. His most successful album December was released in 1982. He released a total of 16 albums. His 1994 album Forest earned him a Grammy award.[1][2]

Winston had thyroid cancer, skin cancer, and myelodysplastic syndrome. He died from cancer on June 4, 2023 in Santa Cruz, California at the age of 73.[3]
